“My way of thinking is color,” says the painter Eileen de Clark Walters“I figure out what color mood I’m in in the morning. If I need confidence, I wear blue. White makes me feel radiant, so I might wear it when I have guests over.” After ten years, Irene and her family recently returned to Holland. She currently lives in Harlem with her husband, Arjan, and her two sons, Bo, 17, and her Pepin, 12. Here, she shares her five looks that are both chic and comfortable…

“In Copenhagen, our rental didn’t allow dogs. Our kids really love dogs, so I promised them we’d get one when we got back to Holland. Lou is the family glue.” Walking the dog, we meet people very spontaneously, and although we weren’t even completely unpacked, our dog immediately helped us get involved in the community. He gave me.”

“Eighteen years ago, I was a lawyer, but I wanted to do something more creative. There was no way I could do it part-time I knew I was making huge financial cuts and adding a lot of uncertainty. I remember saying, “Whatever you do, you will do well.” It was very encouraging. I changed from heels and skirts to what I like. My style is still tailored, blazer and long pants, more comfortable. And no more high heels. ”
“I put on my new jeans and think, Oh, I just want this to end, and paint them. Of course, it always happens with new clothes! The paint used is water-based, so it will come off if you apply force. But I like the paint splatters all over the place. ”

“In countries where the climate is not so warm, the first impression of someone is often that they are wearing a coat. A few I inherited from my mother, quality trenches will last forever.”

“We were planning to move to Copenhagen for two years, but ended up staying for ten years. One of the best things about living there is the local market. Local residents set up outdoor tables to sell clothes, shoes, home décor and toys. TRUE Good stuff. I was in heaven We rode our bikes and did our own thing, then looked around to see the local market. I bought a lot of great second hand items, including these Celine sunglasses. I rarely shopped in physical stores. “
