These brown sugar banana bars are amazing! This recipe was an experiment with great results. I only had one banana and wanted to make something sweet instead of a big cake, so this hit the spot! The brown sugar cream cheese frosting is perfect for these delicious bars.
Ingredients needed for a brown sugar banana bar:
butter
white sugar
brown sugar
vanilla
cinnamon
egg
banana
flour
pecan
Ingredients needed for frosting:
Cream cheese
butter
brown sugar
icing sugar
pecan
These bars are made 8X8 and are the perfect size for small treats! I keep these bars in the fridge. It’s super easy to make and would make a great addition to any brunch or breakfast gathering.

brown sugar banana bar
These brown sugar banana bars are so easy to make and so delicious!
Serving: Four serving
- 1/2 cup salted butter melted
- 1/2 cup white granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup of brown sugar packed
- 2 tea spoon vanilla
- 1 tea spoon of cinnamon
- 1 egg
- 1 cup of wheat flour
- 1/2 cup Banana’s Mash (I used 1 banana this time)
- 1/2 cup pecan nuts chopped
Frosting ingredients:
- 3 ounce of cream cheese softened
- 2 tablespoon of butter softened
- 1/4 cup of brown sugar
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup pecan nuts chopped

Preheat oven to 350 degrees and spray an 8X8 baking dish. Combine butter, white sugar, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla and mix well. I just used a spoon.

Add flour, cinnamon and banana and mix well.

Fold the pecan nuts.

Bake for 22-25 minutes until center is done. It may be a little watery, but that’s okay. Took me 25 minutes. Ovens vary.

Let cool completely.
Frosting instructions:

For frosting, combine all ingredients except pecans and mix with a hand mixer until well blended. Spread over banana bars and top with pecans.
