(CNN) “Grey’s Anatomy” actress Katerina Scorsone and her three children recently survived a devastating home fire.
Scorsone Posting a picture of Monday’s devastation to her Instagram account, “A few months ago my house burned down,” he wrote.
“While I was putting the kids to bed and finishing bath time, smoke started seeping out of the joints around the tub,” the caption read. It was ready and filled the house.”
Scorsone went on to write about how the incident unfolded quickly.
“It took me about two minutes to get my three kids out of the house, but I ran away with no shoes on my feet,” she wrote. I am eternally grateful.”
Scorsone, best known for playing Dr. Amelia Shepard on the hit ABC drama, has three children with ex-husband Rob Giles, Lucky, 3, Paloma, 6, and Eliza, 10. years old).
Sadly, Scorsone said four pets died in a house fire, and her post included photos of them.
“We are lucky to love them even though we still carry that loss,” she wrote of her beloved pets.
Scorsone’s post is “a love letter to the incredible people who showed up and the incredible ways they did,” she wrote.
“Thank you firefighters and investigators (thanks Trey!) Thank you neighbors for answering my frantic knock on the door,” the caption read. Thanks to the parents at my kid’s school for giving me, my friends at @greysabc and @shondaland for sending me clothes and supplies, and the sisters who flew in to handle the logistics so I could stay with my kids. Thank you to my team for making everything easy.”
