How to make apple cobbler
- Preheat oven to 425°F. Butter an 8-inch baking dish. In a large bowl combine apples, lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Stir to coat and pour into the prepared baking dish.
- In the same bowl as the apples, mix the cake flour, white sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix with a whisk.
- Add the grated butter to the flour mixture and mix with a fork. Stir the boiling water until many small chunks of butter remain.
- Spoon the topping onto the apples. (I like to use my smallest cookie scoop ) Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the topping.
- Bake the cinnamon apple cobbler until the skin is golden brown and can be cleaned by inserting a toothpick into the skin, about 28 minutes. Top with ice cream of your choice.
