Hot fudge sauce is much thicker than syrup. Additionally, the sauce will cool and thicken when refrigerated, and the syrup will remain a much thinner consistency. This sauce can be easily warmed up in the microwave! Very reminiscent of melted fudge. If you’ve been following our site even a little bit, you know we love this. 5 minutes of fudge!

This hot fudge sauce is so easy to make! It’s also great over ice cream, cakes, and waffles. It can be stored in the refrigerator for several weeks.
Portion: 1 cup
- 1/3 cup cocoa
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup rich whipped cream
- 1/4 tea spoon salt
- 3 tablespoon butter or margarine
- 1 tea spoon vanilla flavor
Place all ingredients in a pot and mix. Cook on stove until boiling, then simmer over low heat for an additional 3 minutes, stirring frequently. This makes 1 cup of hot fudge sauce. I usually double the recipe.
