Sia revealed that she was diagnosed with autism during an appearance on Thursday’s episode of Rob Cestanino’s podcast, a two-time Survivor contestant. Rob’s podcast.
Two years after his portrayal of disability in controversial movie Music starring Maddie Ziegler and Kate Hudson sparked outrage, the 47-year-old singer shares news that she’s ‘on the spectrum’ bottom.

Despite criticism, the film was nominated for two Golden Globe Awards.
Kate Hudson was nominated for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy and Best Actress – Motion Picture Comedy or Musical, but won neither.
Music also topped the 2021 Razzie Awards, with Sia for Worst Director, Kate Hudson for Worst Actress, and Ziegler for Worst Supporting Actress.
In the film, Hudson plays Zoo, a recently sober drug dealer who becomes the guardian of his autistic half-sister Music (Ziegler) after the death of his grandmother.
Zoo struggles to take care of Music, but neighbor Evo (Leslie Odom Jr.) helps.
After criticism that the film didn’t seem to feature a schizophrenic actor, Sia tweeted at the time that many of the cast had autism.
“I cast 13 neurotypicals, 3 transgenders, as doctors, nurses and singers, not as fucking whores or drug addicts. Fucking sad, no one even watched that awful movie.” No. My heart was always in the right place,” she tweeted.
When asked, “Have you done any research or consulted with the community?” he replied, “It is very disrespectful to say that it is cruel to consult an actor with a disability.”
