Welcome to the weekend! It’s mid-June and the weather couldn’t be more perfect. (I don’t remember saying that in the summer before I moved to Ohio.) It’s still chilly in the mornings, but great afternoons and evenings.

After living here for 4 years, I still have moments where I think, “How amazing is it to wake up every morning in your favorite place on earth?!” It’s a gift that I don’t take for granted.

About blog This week: Crispy golden-fried Italian egg rolls stuffed with Italian sausage and shredded vegetables are a fun and unexpected twist on pasta night.

Cooked in chicken broth, tossed with warm butter and plenty of herbs, fluffy Italian rice is the perfect accompaniment to any meal.

Cold ice cream with warm berry sauce is one of my favorite desserts. I make this sauce all year round and it’s a hit every time I serve it. This fruit sauce may be the simplest recipe I have in my dessert recipe notebook. Nearly 25 years ago, I scribbled it on a piece of paper while visiting a friend.

What I crave: this three layer coffee flavored cake Latte, mocha, and Americano flavored drinks are layered on top of each other! Topped with coffee-flavoured meringue buttercream, this dessert is a coffee lover’s dream come true.

my favorite this week is this dish drying rack. I’ve had this rack for a few weeks now and really love it. I use the dishwasher, but I always hand wash some dishes because it’s easier.

This rack is a great size, not too big to take up a lot of space, but sturdy enough to hold whatever you put inside. You can extend it to fit your entire sink, or you can leave the stand on the counter and place it on a spouted tray to drip water into your sink.

what i am reading: To Live: A North Korean Girl’s Journey to Freedom Written by Park Young Mi. Youngmi tells her story of how she escaped from North Korea when her traffickers followed her and her mother to China, where she was sold as a slave. tell a true story. Years later, she was finally rescued and made it to Seoul, South Korea. For most of us living free today, this is a terrifying and unimaginable story.
