It’s the most wonderful time of the year. No, it’s not the silly festive season, it’s June when all the big game companies are out playing and showing us what they’ve accomplished. And at the center of it all is today’s Summer Game Fest opening showcase.
Starting at 8pm UK time (9pm CEST / 3pm EDT / 12pm PDT), watch the stream here as we report live on what we saw. I’m sure you’ve heard about this exercise by now, but this is an opportunity for us to follow the presentation together and discuss whether we were impressed with the presentation. Will it be?
what teeth So in tonight’s card – what should we expect? Well, Jeff Cayley, because, obviously, it’s his show. But when it comes to high-profile games, Ed Boone will be there to show off the series’ reboot, Mortal Kombat 1, and Remedy’s Sam Lake will be there to show off more Alan Wake 2.
More than that, though, it’s speculation, but it’s entirely possible that we’ll see an expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, the Phantom Liberty, and I’m very much looking forward to it. Also, Hideo Kojima is expected to appear. But is he taking pictures of food or is he there to show Death Stranding 2?
Expected to run for about two hours, dozens of game companies have reportedly signed up, so expect more announcements to come. Oops, remember. Summer Game Fest ties in with many other showcases happening this weekend and next week, and you can track them all in our Summer Game Fest 2023 guide.
But for now let’s speculate – what do you expect?
