Love is patient, love is kind. I am not envious, I am not boastful, I am not proud. Do not insult others, do not be selfish, do not get angry easily, do not record mistakes. Love rejoices not in evil, but in truth. It always protects, it always trusts, it always hopes, it always endures. love never fails (1 Corinthians 13:4-8).

Love is mentioned somewhere between 360 and 550 times in the Bible, depending on which translation you delve into. My friend, that’s a lot of love!

Because there is a God who is the pure image of love. Through his words we see his love poured out and generously upon us.

From the beginning of God’s creation, to his countless promises, to his unceasing grace and mercy, to his righteous discipline. God’s love is evidenced by His attention to every detail of our lives.

God’s love has no strings attached. Completely unconditional. Perfect in every sense. God’s love is the core and heart of the gospel. 1 Corinthians gives us a glimpse of how God loves us and asks us to share this love with others.

Paul’s first letter to the Corinthian church invited believers to examine their lives in the light of the image of Christ. His particular emphasis was on love, the love of Christ. His mission was to unite the churches and gather them into communion.

At the time, church meetings were a bit chaotic and disorganized. Their mission was to share the good news, but their focus was less on lovingly imparting and distributing knowledge and more on being heard and proud.

So it is no coincidence that this chapter on love is completely sandwiched between two verses on spiritual gifts.

Paul encouraged the church to use its knowledge of Christ and its spiritual gifts to spread love for Christ. in loveBasically it says that you can do everything right, but without love there is nothing (1 Corinthians 13:2-3).

underlying meaning of 1 Corinthians 13 As followers, we should use our gifts to imitate Jesus’ love while serving and loving others as Jesus did!

So what do we do?It’s a place of famous and beloved poetry 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 If we are called to share the love of Christ, we must first understand how Christ loved us.

characteristics of love

Many of the characteristics listed below are self-explanatory, but we need to look at them through the lens of Christ. And while these traits of love may be easier said than done, they can be much harder to actually live.

1. Love is patient and kind. Patience is not an easy virtue to maintain in everyday life. Whether it’s rolling your eyes as a teenager or being sarcastic from your neighbors, impatience can quickly set in and leave you with less-than-kind responses.

Yet we are called to do just that. Patient and kind. If we want to share the love of Christ with others, we must be gentle and patient.

preach the words Be prepared in season and out of season.Correct, Rebuke, Encourage — With Great Patience and Careful Guidance (2 Timothy 4:2).

2. Don’t brag. At this point in the scripture we see a contrast.while loving teeth be patient and kind not. Love is neither boastful nor selfish. But how often are we proud to do good with selfish intentions?

Unfortunately, selfishness is part of our human nature. We want our good deeds to be heard, liked and recognized.

But this poem completely turns that train of thought upside down. As believers, we must set ourselves aside and magnify the needs of others.

Not only that, but we should be proud of Him alone, acknowledging that He uses every situation for good.

So our testimony is essential because we can share how good and faithful God is.

Not only that, but we are proud of our suffering because we know that suffering creates perseverance. perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not shame us. Because the love of God is poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit given to us.(Romans 5:3-5).

3. We do not keep records of mistakes. The infamous scoreboard between two passionate people is nothing new. We see how the disciples doubted, denied, and betrayed Jesus as they compared their love for Jesus to each other.

But although Jesus may have been hurt by these actions, he forgave them and never spoke of it again.

We are likewise called. Forgive freely and then… let go. As followers of Christ, we should heed the example of Jesus. When you want the scoreboard to be revealed, you must first let your father cleanse your heart while inflicting wounds on him and seeking his wisdom and guidance.

But love your enemies, do good, and lend without expecting anything in return. Then your reward will be great, and you will be a child of the Most High. (Luke 6:35).

4. I am a truth seeker. Love seeks truth. real truth. Exposed to countless views, logics and data from today’s culture and society, multiple messages can be mixed and ingested and confused about the actual truth. There is a good chance you will need the truth now more than ever!

The truth we find in his words is solid and solid. Evidence that the Holy Word of God is based on truth and that love is at its heart can be found by holding fast to the following facts:

  • The writers of the various 66 books of the Bible all share one message. It means that the true God is one of him and has sent his Son Jesus his Christ to redeem this lost and fallen world.
  • All around us we see the handiwork of the Creator.
  • The prophecy that was foretold was fulfilled.
  • Those who earnestly seek God through prayer and praise live in indescribable peace.
  • Hope for life after this is offered to us.

But he continued. I’m from above you are of this worldi am not of this world (John 8:23).

Why is it so popular?

And now there are three things left – faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love (1 Corinthians 13:13).

the whole of 1 Corinthians 13 The whole book revolves around love, which is why it is widely popular. The greatest gift we can give and receive. It is a gift that God has given us through His Son, proclaiming His unspeakable love for us.

We were created with love, in the form of love. We are called to use our spiritual gifts to love God’s love and share it with others.

this is the central theme 1 Corinthians 13 – Love!

Love is an interesting word that never fails (1 Corinthians 13:8). Love is a powerful word that defies all odds and gives us hope. Love should be fully known and fully loved (1 Corinthians 13:12). Love is the core of God’s Word.
