Disease outbreaks from Lee’s Summit robotics competition continue to rise
The number of cases of illness attributed to robotics competitions at Lee’s Summit continues to grow. The Jackson County Health Department is currently tracking 98 cases in him from March 29 through his April 1 competition outbreak at Lee’s Summit North High School. These are people with similar symptoms, such as fever, chills, and gastrointestinal problems. The majority of cases are from residents of the Kansas City metropolitan area. Teams from Kansas, Oklahoma and Brazil competed in the event. The first reports of the illness were reported on April 3, according to the health department.The cause of the transmission and the nature of the illness are still under investigation.
