Scammers are listening if your phone has malware
Finally, there is one more important consideration. If your device is slow and you see strange pop-ups on your phone, your device may be infected with malware. You may have accidentally clicked on a legitimate-looking link when in fact it was a link to install malware. If you have malware, the crooks may be doing things like spying on you or installing software on your device that mimics your clicks to generate income for the crooks.
