LeBron James scores 46 against Clippers as he closes in on Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s scoring record

LeBron James is getting closer.

The Los Angeles Lakers star needed 224 points on Tuesday to surpass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the NBA’s all-time scoring leader. He is much closer after a 46-point effort when he lost 133-115. los angeles clippers.

Even in a losing effort, James gave the fans their money’s worth. Recorded 0 blocks, 0 turnovers and 0 personal fouls. He shot 9 of his 14 from the deep, setting his career-high 3-pointers made in a single game.

The final score was close, but James took the lead in the fourth quarter and cut the deficit to 10 before the Clippers firmly regained control.

With 40 points against the Clippers, James has 40 points against all 30 teams in the NBA. This is an unprecedented feat.his three other players 40 goals against 29 teams: Kevin Durant, James Harden Kobe Bryant has never played for the Lakers.

It’s only a matter of time before LeBron James breaks NBA scoring record

James isn’t chasing records for the late smokes of his amazing career. Far from it. His 29.8 points scoring average in his 37 games would be his fourth-highest scoring percentage in the NBA in his 20 seasons.

James averaged 20.9 points per game as a rookie and hasn’t fallen off that pace since. He is set to break Abdul his jabber record with more than 100 games fewer than his fellow Lakers greats. Abdul-Jabbar has scored 38,387 points in his 1,560 games. The Lakers’ game against the Clippers on Tuesday was his 1,404th of James’ career.

James’ pace is good and he could pass Abdul-Jabbar in February. Here’s the Lakers’ next game as James pursues his one of the last big milestones in his basketball career.
