Nikola Jokic is unstoppable this postseason.
In Game 3 of the NBA Finals, Jokic became the first player in NBA history to record 30-plus points, 20-plus rebounds and 10-plus assists in a Finals game.
Jokic had 32 points, 21 rebounds and 10 assists to lead the Denver Nuggets in a 109-94 victory over the Miami Heat to give Denver a 2-1 series lead.
When the two-time MVP was asked how much the statistical feat meant to him, the two-time MVP had a perfect answer. He’s just happy that he won the match. “
This was his 10th triple-double in the playoffs and extended his single-season record.
Jokic has also covered three of the five 30-20-10 playoff games so far, two of which will be in the postseason. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (1970) and Wilt Chamberlain (1967) each he has one.
Another triple-double history was made when Jamal Murray grabbed his 10th rebound with nine seconds left in the game. Murray had 34 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, making Jokic and Murray the first teammates in NBA history (regular season or playoffs) to record a 30-point triple-double in the same game.
“It’s the best performance we’ve had in seven years as a duo,” said Nuggets coach Michael Malone after the team was two wins away from Denver’s first title.
