Hamlin was placed on a stretcher and eventually in an ambulance while receiving several minutes of CPR at the scene. He was given oxygen as he entered the ambulance, and he and several of his family members were taken to the hospital.
On Tuesday morning, family spokesperson Jordon Rooney provided Hamlin’s update: “I can’t speak specifically to his medical condition. …The most important thing is to give the family privacy….His family is going through a lot right now.”
