“If you had told me this years ago, I would have been like, ‘It sounds good in theory, but that’s not my reality,'” she added. .
TerKeurst’s announcement comes almost a year after she filed for divorce from her husband, Art TerKeurst, after 29 years of marriage. She first filed for divorce in 2017, citing Art’s infidelity, but then the couple renewed their vows in 2018.
In January 2022, TerKeurst announced that he was parting ways with Art permanently due to his continued infidelity.
As christian headline As previously reported, it was later revealed that Art had spent over $100,000 on an affair with a woman he met online.
“I will never understand the twists and turns of life,” Thakurst wrote in the post. “But I am so grateful that it is God’s goodness and tenderness that we can count on when all else seems so frightening.
In an Instagram post last week, Terkourst said: “For days, months, years, I haven’t felt it. I had a lot of doubts. It hurt me deeply. It’s like nothing I’ve ever felt before. It was such a sadness,” she captioned.
“But in due time God wrote a most delightful and surprising story. “I’m not over it all,” she concluded.
In another Instagram post shared late last month,Terkurst hinted at meeting someone special in a post reflecting on her life over the past decade.
Nearly ten years of tears. I’m so scared. devastating heartbreak. endless counseling. It’s strange. ask. After years of being in a crowded room, I felt completely alone. I feel terrible. We are making progress little by little. then regress. I feel very intense and anxious,” she wrote.

“But by the grace of God I was finally able to come to terms with my life,” Terkourst added, adding, “I have learned to be where I am. , to keep smiling, to take pictures of myself, awkward but happy. I learned to be with you.”
“And when I was so healed that I didn’t need anyone, I was free enough to want someone. That’s right. That was the biggest surprise…love, real, honest, It’s true. Oh, I have so much to tell you. Right now.”
