ROCHESTER, NY – Saturday was National Record Store Day. People were already lining up outside the Record Archive at 6am on Saturday to be the first to pick their favorite album.

It turns out that even in today’s digital age, records still have a lot of appeal.

Camping in front of the Record Archive, Julian says, “I really like having physical media in my hands and being able to see the artwork. You can meet a lot of people and make new friends.”

The Record Archive said it stocks hundreds of limited-edition record releases to celebrate the day.

For fans of vinyl records, it’s a holiday. Music fans look forward to the release of a limited edition special album to mark the occasion each year.

The Record Archive was celebrated with all-day $1 records, live music, and happy hour events.
