Well, it didn’t take long. Less than two hours after General Motors announced the name of the Cadillac Escalade IQ, it was spotted testing on the road in heavy camouflage. It’s certainly no surprise that Cadillac engineers are testing the Escalade IQ, considering it’s due to debut in earnest by the end of this year, but it’s his 2025 model that will officially go on sale. so there is plenty of time to resolve. Potential twist. The camouflage is so thick that it’s hard to identify most anything but obvious about this big electric SUV, but there are some details worth taking a closer look.
Like the Chevrolet Silverado EV and GMC Hummer EV, the Cadillac Escalade IQ will be fitted with 8-lug wheels. Similar to the Celestiq wheels we’ve already seen, but with a larger diameter from 23″ to 24″. I’m not entirely sure about the wheel finish, but the thin spoke design is distinct and very cool. The 8-lug wheels also confirm that the Cadillac Escalade IQ likely shares his Ultium-powered BT1 platform, the same as Chevrolet and his GMC/Hummer brethren.
You’ll also get a glimpse of the interior of the flappy-covered Escalade IQ, but there isn’t much to collect. As the top-of-the-line SUV in GM’s luxury division, it’s fair to assume that the Escalade IQ will have a very large digital screen. We’re excited to see the OLED technology and Celestiq full width view used in the current Escalade in an electric SUV, but we’ll have to wait and see.
