Crock Pot Jambalaya - Southern Lady Cook

Crockpot Jambalaya is a super easy dish packed with delicious spices and great over rice. This dish is so easy to make that it’s perfect for a busy week. You can make this and enjoy it for days and reheat it.

This dish contains chicken, sausage, shrimp, and vegetables with very little effort. Chop the vegetables and put them all in the pot and you’re done. Just add shrimp at the end of cooking to make rice.

This one-pot meal is a family favorite. The ingredients are easy and good for your body, so you can make simple changes to tailor it to your needs.

Recipe notes:

This dish is high in protein and using turkey sausage lowers the fat content. So if you’re looking for a high protein meal, this is a good one. Chicken and shrimp are high in protein, as is turkey sausage. It’s an easy switch and we often do it that way.

  • To make this dish low-fat and high-protein, use turkey sausage.
  • If you want to keep the sugar low, pour over cauliflower rice.
  • You can also use chicken sausage or broccoli rice.

Don’t be afraid to really spice it up, as this dish is best when it’s full of flavor. Chicken, shrimp and sausage go well with spices. If you serve it on top of rice, the rice will absorb the juice, so you will want plenty of seasoning. It is one article without the difference between playing an active part!

What would you like to serve with this jambalaya?

This one-pot meal is good enough on its own, but if you want to serve it with something else, it’s always a hit. This dish is also great for family gatherings, I make a lot and it’s always a hit.

“I made this the other day for my grown-up kids and they loved it! I had the ingredients ready the night before.

  • 1 lb smoked sausage Can I have smoked turkey sausage
  • 1/2 lb raw shrimp Peeled, deveined and thawed
  • 1 14 oz can, diced cherry tomatoes, no draining
  • 1 6 ounce can of tomato paste
  • 1 14-ounce can of chicken broth (I like low-sodium chicken broth)
  • 1 green pepper chopped
  • 1 medium sweet onions chopped
  • 1/2 tea spoon of cayenne pepper
  • 2 teaspoon of minced garlic
  • 1.5 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • 2 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
  • 2 teaspoon dry virgin
  • cooked rice
  • 1/2 cup celery, chopped
  • Combine all ingredients except rice and shrimp in a clay pot and simmer over low heat for 4 hours or until chicken is tender. Add the defrosted shrimp and fry until the shrimp turns pink. Probably around 20-30 minutes, depending on the temperature of your pan. Be careful not to overcook the shrimp. Enjoy your meal with rice! You can make 6 to 8 servings.

You can add 2 celery ribs to this recipe
