Garlic/Ginger – Garlic and ginger add great flavor to this sauce. Freeze the ginger and grate the frozen ginger in a box grater for sauces and stir-fries. Fresh ginger works best, but if you really have to, substitute 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger.
sweetness – Brown sugar works best as a sweetener, but you can substitute white sugar or honey in a pinch.
variation – For added flavor, try adding sesame seeds, green or chopped white onions, and citrus zest.
