Jamie Lopez, whose babydoll beauty salon was featured on WeTV’s reality series Super Size Salon, has passed away, her colleagues and the network said in their respective statements.

Lopez’s company released a statement on social media about her death.
“On behalf of the Babydoll Beauty Couture team, we would like to send our deepest condolences to the legendary founder and owner of Babydoll Beauty Couture, Jamie Lopez.” read the statement. “On behalf of the Babydoll family, please allow us time to process this tremendous loss. Further details and arrangements will be announced shortly.”
No information has been shared about the probable cause of death.
Described as “the world’s first plus-size salon,” Babydoll Beauty Couture set the stage for the “Super-size Salon,” which premiered in July.
WeTV also posted on social media about Lopez’s loss.
“We are saddened to hear the sudden passing of Jamie Lopez.” I read the network statement. “Jamie’s passion for creating a safe and comfortable environment for all the women at Babydoll Beauty Couture will never be forgotten. Our thoughts and condolences are with her family and friends during this difficult time. .”
Lopez started her company after experiencing discrimination as a plus size woman in the beauty industry.
WeTV’s series talks about Lopez’s struggles with weight, including being able to walk again after losing 400 pounds. She shared that at one point she weighed 846 pounds.
“Inspired by the lack of places in Vegas for nails and haircuts that meet my needs as a plus-size woman, it’s time to make some changes for plus-size women around the world. I decided that Lopez told Yahoo in 2017.
