July 10 (Reuters) – Metaplatforms’ (META.O) social media apps Instagram and Facebook, messaging app WhatsApp and Twitter rival Threads, according to Downdetector.com. said it was all back on Monday after a brief outage that affected thousands of users.
At the peak of the outage, which lasted over an hour, more than 14,000 users reported problems accessing Instagram, while about 7,000 and 2,700 users faced problems on Facebook and WhatsApp, respectively.
Threads, Meta’s newest service, also suffered an outage, with about 470 users reporting problems accessing the app.
Downdetector tracks outages by collating status reports from many sources, including user-submitted errors on the platform. This outage may have affected more users.
Meta did not immediately respond to Reuters inquiries about the outage.
