What makes this orange potato salad so unique?
We have quite a few potato salads on our website but when I saw this one it was completely different. I made it with a French dressing that I’ve never done before. If you’ve read our website even a little, you know that we love trying “family favorite” dishes. That’s one of the reasons we started. supper club.
As we were reading this recipe, this was a memory Tina submitted with the recipe.
“My grandma used to make this all the time. I started reminding my mother that “light mayonnaise is no good”.
We all laughed when we read it. Because that’s exactly what we heard one of our grandmothers say. So I printed this out and made it, and it was great! We will definitely make this again and again and it’s the perfect addition to any potluck.
A simple ingredient that packs a big punch:
- Peeled and boiled small red potatoes
- Boiled egg
- onion
- sweet pickles
- pickle juice
- craft french dressing
- mayonnaise
- salt
- pepper
- paprika
As you can see, the ingredients are very simple, but the sweet pickles and French dressing make this potato salad an exquisite taste.
Could you make this in advance?
This salad was just as good the next day, so I don’t see why you wouldn’t make it the day before. This was a big hit with the family, so it didn’t last long. It goes well with any of the dishes below.

orange potato salad
The orange potato salad is delicious with French dressing!
Portion: 8 one person
- 3 lb small red potatoes peel and boil
- 6 egg boiled
- 1 onion diced
- 3 sweet pickles diced
- 3 tablespoon pickle juice
- 8 Oz craft french dressing
- 1/2 small jar mayonnaise
- salt
- pepper
- paprika

cut potatoes into squares

Add onions, pickles and pickle juice

Add salt and pepper to taste

Add 4 diced eggs
-
Add French dressing and stir until coated
-
Add mayonnaise and mix until well combined

Slice the remaining 2 eggs from above

sprinkle with paprika

Chill in the refrigerator before serving
