of Bible “Do not yoke unbelievers. What do righteousness and evil have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?”2 Corinthians 6:14).
When choosing a mate, make sure your choice is God’s choice. He advised us to choose a spouse who is a believer. Choosing an unbeliever to yoke with an unbeliever can make it difficult to maintain peace in the home and maintain a relationship with God.
How can a person striving for righteousness in his life live in harmony with someone who does not share the same goals?
Even if you find yourself strongly attracted to an unbeliever and have to make the difficult decision to end the relationship, God will honor your efforts to choose wisely, and He will do the right thing for your spouse. Please find your choice. In this important life decision, we want to make sure that your choices are part of God’s plan for your life.
Billy Graham’s wife, Ruth Bell Graham, said she would “never make a more important decision than who to marry.”
2. Date Your Mate
Keep the date nights going, especially after marriage.
No matter how busy you are with good things, what could be better than dressing up for a “date” with your spouse? A kid-free trip to the grocery store, a picnic by the lake talking until the sun goes down , or it could be a fancy dinner and a movie afterward.
You might need to “steal” the kids minutes after they go to bed, or ask Grandma and Grandpa to babysit for a few hours. Don’t forget to put a spark in your relationship.
