Old fashioned tomato aspic holds many special memories. My grandmother has made tomato aspic many times, and many people have a love-hate relationship with this classic dish. Personally, Lee and I love it, but our mom was never a fan! The combination of tomato, onion, and spice jellied molds served with mayonnaise is a truly unique idea. . My grandmother always served it on a cute little plate and it was delicious.
Traditional Tomato Aspic Ingredients:
gelatin
vegetable juice or tomato juice
onion
celery
lemon juice
Worcestershire sauce
pepper
water
mayonnaise
bib lettuce for display
It is OK to use tomato juice or vegetable juice like V8. It was like taking a walk back in time with tomato juice.I haven’t had this dish since I was a kid, but it was a wonderful reminder of all the times my grandmother made it. and great shrimp salad Also ham and salad A perfect summer meal.

old fashioned tomato aspic
This old-fashioned tomato aspic is a classic family-friendly recipe.
Serving: 8 serving
- 1/2 cup room temperature water
- 2 a pack of gelatin i used the knox brand
- 3 cup of vegetable juice V8, tomato juice, etc.
- 1/2 cup onion chopped
- 1/2 cup of celery chopped
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
- 2 tea spoon of Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tea spoon of pepper

Dissolve gelatin in room temperature water, mix well and set aside.

On stove, add remaining ingredients to pot and bring to a simmer. Simmer for about 15 minutes and add the gelatin mixture.

Stir to make sure all gelatin is dissolved.

5 Spray the cup mold with non-stick spray. Allow the mixture to cool and pour into molds.

Chill in refrigerator for 4 to 6 hours or until aspic is set.

Topped with Duke’s Mayonnaise
