A Legacy Worth Passing Down to Your Grandkids: Your Faith

The simplest definition of legacy is something that is inherited. And as grandparents, we have the opportunity to pass all sorts of things on to our grandchildren. Whether it’s happy memories, family heirlooms, or our character traits, our greatest legacy is our faith in Jesus.

When we let God’s light shine through us, we leave a legacy of faith, hope, and love – the greatest of these is love. I want to be remembered as someone who loved Jesus with all my heart, mind, soul and strength.

Here are four ways you can leave a legacy of faith to your grandchildren.

Talking About the Savior

As King David once wrote, “May the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable, Lord, my strength, my Redeemer, in your eyes.” A great prayer for grandparents looking to leave a legacy of faith.

sometimes we feel we can’t talk about jesus Fear of offending others or appearing fanatic, but how would you believe if you weren’t listening? Romans 10:14“Then how can they call a man they have never believed? And how can they believe a man they have never heard of? how can i ask?”

We don’t have to preach to our grandchildren, but we often talk about the Savior and our love for them. We can also share our testimonies of how the Lord has brought us to Himself. I have no idea what lasting effect this will have on your grandchildren or granddaughters.

Talk often about the Savior and talk about His wonderful works. And trust God to use your words to sow seeds in the hearts of his grandchildren.

Just as he is hesitant to talk about his faith, he is hesitant to share the Bible with his grandchildren. Yet, it is the word of God that does not invalidate. As Hebrews 4:12 “The Word of God is alive and active. It is sharper than any double-edged sword, penetrating even to divide soul and mind, joints and marrow, and judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”

You can share specific Bible verses that relate to what your grandchildren are going through. Whether it’s a difficult time at school or any other problem, God’s Word has the answers for life!

If you don’t know where to start, we recommend going back to the beginning. Please share the first few chapters of Genesis to remind us that God is the Creator of all things. Emphasize that God made them in His image and that they have a divine purpose. Invite them to study the Bible with you, memorize it, and learn more about the nature of God.

The Bible is more than just a book. It contains the very word of God and has the power to move people’s hearts. Make his words known to your grandchildren and pray that they will develop his thirst for truth.

pray with others in a particular way

I think it’s safe to say that most of us pray for our grandchildren on a regular basis, but how many of us have a prayer team of people praying together?

Something powerful happens when you ask others to pray specifically for you and your loved ones. Provide the intermediary you need.

It is highly recommended that you invite a few trusted friends to participate in specific prayers for your grandchildren. It tackles topics such as emotional, physical and mental issues. Here are some specific things to pray for.

– Their hearts: First and foremost, pray for the salvation of your grandchildren – so that they understand the gospel and follow Jesus all day long.

-Their Hearts: Ask God to fix their hearts on Him and give His peace.

-Grandchildren’s Friendship: Pray for your grandchildren’s relationship and ask God to protect them from harmful people.

-Their Education: May God intervene in your grandchildren’s education and provide a safe and healthy learning environment.

-Their Safety: Ask the Lord to send angels to protect your grandchildren and protect them from harm.

become salt and light

of Matthew 5:13-16Jesus said, “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its salty taste, how can it be made salty again? Except to be trampled down. A city built on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor can a lamp be lit and placed under a bowl. Let your light shine likewise before others, so that they may see your good deeds and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

Your example of faith is shown through a life of devotion to Christ. It includes a heart of service to your family salt and lightThe more you invest in their little lives, the greater your influence.

Here are some specific ways to become salt and light:

-Listen…really listen. Be your grandchildren’s mentor and take a genuine interest in their lives. They may come to trust you as a safe person who always does their best.

・Find out what we can do together. This includes going to the park, hiking, painting, and cooking. The memories you made will be cherished for decades.

– Raise your voice of reason. You have much experience and wisdom to share.

-Walk by the Spirit and show His fruit. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, kindness, faithfulness, and self-control go a long way in ministering to our grandchildren.

Finally, walk the narrow path and leave a legacy of faith. You can’t make your grandchildren believe in Jesus, but you can show them walking in oneness with the Savior. Your greatest legacy is your faith and what a beautiful legacy it is!
