Ingredients for Chicken Capri
chicken – Made with fresh boneless skinless chicken breast. Skinless chicken thighs can be used in place of chicken breasts.
bacon – Bacon adds savory and smoky flavor.
tomato – Fresh tomatoes, especially cherry tomatoes and grape tomatoes, become irresistibly sweet and tender when cooked, creating a deliciously fresh “sauce”.
cheese – Sprinkle with fresh mozzarella and parmesan cheese to finish this recipe. Feel free to use other cheeses of your choice, such as provolone, romano, or asiago.
basil – Fresh basil leaves take this dish to the next level.
extra – Drizzle with a zesty balsamic glaze. Adding mushrooms or asparagus along with garlic will add even more flavor. You can also add capers or sundried tomatoes.

How to make chicken caprese
- Fry the bacon and set aside. (Some drippings may need to be removed from the pan.)
- Cook chicken in bacon drip and set aside.
- Add the garlic and cook, then add the wine and butter and stir to deglaze the pan.
- Add the chicken and tomatoes to the frying pan and continue to simmer. (according to the recipe below).
- Top with cheese, bake, garnish with basil and bacon and enjoy.
This dish is also great served over noodles or with roasted zucchini and vegetables.

This fresh and easy chicken caprese is light, elegant, and great-tasting in one skillet for dinner.

Cook bacon in a 10-inch skillet until crisp. Remove the bacon from the skillet and set aside any drips.

Season chicken with salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning.

Fry the bacon over medium heat and add the chicken. Cook until browned for 3-4 minutes on each side. Remove the chicken from the skillet and place it on a plate.

Add 2 minced cloves of garlic to the same skillet. Fry until fragrant. Add the wine, mix and simmer for 2-3 minutes. Add butter and whisk.

Sprinkle 1 cup shredded mozzarella over chicken and tomatoes. Place skillet under broiler for 1 minute or until cheese is melted and bubbly.

Cooking time will vary depending on the thickness of the chicken breast. The internal temperature of the chicken should reach 165°F. Do not overcook.
