Not to mention, this frosting is also great on graham crackers. This is a taste test requirement every time we have frosting in the house.
It shouldn’t surprise you to hear that I’ve made this frosting without cake more than a few times. No shame in my frosting game.

Blueberry Frosting Recipe
- Place about 1½ cups of blueberries in a small food processor or blender and puree until smooth, stopping scraping sides if needed.
- Place the butter in a large mixing bowl and beat until smooth and creamy, then add 1 cup of powdered sugar and beat again. Add another cup of powdered sugar and mix. Add 1/2 cup of blueberry puree and stir again until smooth. Add remaining powdered sugar and vanilla and whisk until smooth and fluffy.
- Add berry puree if desired for a creamier or easier-to-pour icing, or add powdered sugar to create a thicker, more pipeable frosting for decoration.
- Use the remaining berries to decorate the cake as desired. Store decorated cakes and cupcakes in the refrigerator until ready to eat.

Save leftover berry puree to add to smoothies or stir into oatmeal. You can also leave it.
