Grilled chicken breast is a simple meal of tender, juicy chicken marinated in a flavorful marinade.

It’s super easy to make and great to eat on its own, add to pasta, or top a salad.

A quick, flavorful marinade and even shorter grill time will ensure this meal hits the table in no time.

How to make marinated grilled chicken breast

Before grilling the chicken breast, let it marinate a little. Marinades add flavor and help tenderize grilled chicken.

  • oil: Oil is the base of this marinade, dispersing flavors and preventing sticking.
  • acid: Decomposes hard protein to tenderize meat. (vinegar/lemon juice).
  • sugar: Add flavor to promote caramelization. (honey/brown sugar).
  • seasoning: Condiments define the flavor profile. Use a little Italian seasoning, but feel free to add your favorite herbs and spices.

Marinate chicken for at least 30 minutes. The purpose of the marinade is not only to add flavor, but also to tenderize the meat, so it takes some time to work its magic.

Chicken can be marinated for up to 4 hours. If you marinate for more than 4 hours, the texture of the chicken will change and it may become soft.

Baked chicken breast is always on the table in the winter, but when the weather warms up, the table is filled with grilling and barbecue recipes. It’s easy to make:

  1. pound chicken: Hammer the chicken to 1/2-inch thickness so it cooks evenly.
  2. Marinade: prepare the marinade (according to the recipe below) and let the chicken marinate for 30 minutes or up to 4 hours.
  3. grill: Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and cook the chicken for 6-8 minutes per side.

The higher heat locks in the juices, keeping the chicken breast moist and moist while giving it a nice brown color.

time to bake chicken breast

Grilling time for chicken breasts will vary slightly depending on the heat of the grill and the thickness of the chicken breast.

After the chicken is marinated, it is grilled. Place the breast on the grill and sear on one side for about 7 to 8 minutes. You don’t have to peek at it or lift it up, so it leaves beautiful grilled marks.

Flip chicken over and cook for an additional 7 to 8 minutes or until thickest part of breast reaches 165°F. meat thermometer.

Boneless chicken breasts are very lean and dry easily, so be careful not to overcook them (cook them to an internal temperature of 165°F). Chicken warms up a few degrees when rested, so I usually remove it from the grill a few degrees early.

To keep the chicken juicy, it’s important to let it rest for about 3-5 minutes before cutting (enough time to plate and serve). Serve with a side of your choice and preferably on the patio with a large pitcher of Easy White Sangria.
