This sweet viral video shows a lonely granddaughter asking his granddaughter for a sleepover and they finally make plans for the night.
Megan Elizabeth is 29 years old and grew up in Illinois across the street from her grandparents. Her grandmother died of Alzheimer’s a few years ago, but her 92-year-old grandfather is still with us, albeit in declining health.
Recently, Megan’s grandfather emailed me asking if I could stay at his house.and she made a video she shared on TikTok She showed him his heartwarming text message.
“Hello Megan, I’m Grandpa.” her grandfather wrote“Would you like to come over and stay the night? I’m not feeling well and I miss you. We can order food and watch the mystery show. I love you, Grandpa.”
“Yeah! We’ll finish at about seven o’clock!” Megan replied. “Would you like something from the store or something for dinner?”
Lonely grandpa sends a message to his granddaughter
“Can I have some applesauce?” her grandfather wrote back. “Something like cinnamon. And if you’re going to take mashed potatoes somewhere else, I’d like that because I’m toothless and can only eat soft things. Haha, Grandpa, I love you.”
“Okay, see you later,” she replied.
“Thank you. You are my favorite granddaughter,” he wrote. But Megan made sure to point out that she is his only granddaughter.
He then continued with more messages. “Could you bring me some strawberry ice cream, too?”
Later that night, Megan stopped by Grandpa’s house. They spent a lovely evening together, watching shows and eating dinner. I got up at 5:30 am to tell
“Thank you Grandpa. He will never understand how much love he showed me.” shared megan“And more importantly, the love he showed my grandmother when she was alive. I owe my faith in love and loyalty to this man. He is my hero.”
Sweet bond between these two! And it’s simple moments like this that will be cherished forever. May God bless the love of granddaughter and grandpa!
