Welcome to the weekend, my friend! My youngest turned 13 this weekend and I was looking at the calendar waiting for this weekend to come, which is a little unreal. We now have her 3 teenagers at home and we love it.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, raising older kids is so much more fun than babies and toddlers ever. I wouldn’t have believed it if you had told me.

on the blog This week: This is without a doubt the best ham I have ever tasted. The secret is all in our 3-ingredient ham glaze. (This hum deserves a complete exaggeration. I gave up writing the post without it.)

A mouthwatering dish of fresh broccoli with dried cranberries, bacon and red onions in a tangy sweet dressing. cranberry broccoli bacon saladThis salad was a hit with non-broccoli fans, too.

Tangy Memphis Barbecue Sauce tastes better than store-bought. (You can make it if you have the ingredients in your pantry!) Have you tried making barbecue sauce? If you don’t have it yet, give it a try.

This lightly sweetened baked oatmeal has bursting blueberries, wholesome oats and a hint of cinnamon.

this garlic asparagus bacon pasta It includes a handful of fresh Parmesan cheese, a fresh squeeze of lemon juice and a sprinkling of red pepper flakes to perfectly match the fresh flavor of the asparagus. (Last time I made this, I actually had to hide the leftover little portion because I was planning on making it for lunch the next day!)

steak fajitas quesadillas It combines the rich, meaty flavor of steak with the bright colors and bold flavors of fajita vegetables, all wrapped in a crisp, cheesy tortilla.

This light, sweet and spicy cake is stuffed with apple chunks and drizzled with warm caramel sauce just before serving. A sprinkling of raw sugar on top of the cake adds crunchiness and sweetness.

What I crave: big mac tacos – I’m not kidding you. When Rebecca first told me she was creating a recipe that mimicked the flavor of the classic Big Mac, I was a little confused — until I tasted these tacos. Either way, when it comes to these tacos, the tasting is to be believed, they are so good.

My Favorites This week is this $4 hair treatmentI have been using the Malibu C Blonde Hair Remedy regularly (about once a month) since moving to Ohio and still love it. Simply take the powder in your hands, wet it, apply it to your hair after shampooing, rinse, shampoo again and finally condition. Works in just a few minutes. My hair has never been happier.

what i am reading: The complete novels of Lucy Maud Montgomery Kindle version. Only on Kindle I could have actually screamed when she stumbled across her entire collection of books for $3. What a discovery! I already have the Anne of Green Gables series on Kindle, but this set also includes all of Emily’s books. In case you don’t know, I’m obsessed with this collection!
