Man dragged by car in front of Salinas High School students

The Salinas Police Department said a man was in stable condition after being hit and dragged by a car in front of Salinas High School. Investigators said the hit-and-run followed a fight that occurred between two men in a subway parking lot on South Main Street during a student lunch break around 12:30 p.m. Monday. Videos circulating on social media show a street brawl ensuing, with one person jumping on the passenger side of a white sedan and trying to leave. The car was run over by the victim while backing up, dragged him across the parking lot, and was run over by him again. “I was on the top floor of the building and I looked out the window and everyone started screaming. student said. “I saw a video like that and it looked pretty crazy. It looked like his head was flipped,” another student said. , some students went to school officials for solace. “The students knew where to go because they had that practice for students with special needs, and who went to get help just before lunch was over.” Salinas Union High School has a Student Health Center with three intervention specialists, a social worker and eight counselors. Salinas Police said an investigation was ongoing and no arrests had been made. They are still looking for attackers and getaway drivers.
