Ram recalls 340,000 heavy-duty Cummins-powered trucks for fire risk

Ram has advised owners of more than 340,000 large pickup trucks to park outside due to fire hazards. Affected vehicles use an older type of heater grid electrical connector that is no longer in use. Official documentation of this latest fire-related recall has not yet been released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.However, a similar 2021 recall states, “Owners are advised to park these vehicles outside buildings and structures and not near other vehicles until the vehicles are refurbished. ” So it’s not surprising CNBC Stellantis is again reportedly advising owners to park their vehicles outdoors.

A total of 306,165 trucks affected by this recall were sold in the United States, and an additional 21,988 were sold in Canada. His remaining 12,590 were sold outside of North America. All affected trucks are powered by Ram’s 6.7-liter Cummins diesel engine.
