I recently remade this dish so I was able to update this recipe. That’s excellent. I love topping it with a fried egg and this dish reheats very well. Perfect to make early in the week and have for breakfast every morning. It’s also great for brunch and holiday weekends. The flavor is great, and if you want to add some heat to this casserole, you can always make it with spicy sausage.
- Smoked sausage, Italian sausage, andouille sausage, spicy sausage can be used
- If you don’t like green chili peppers, use diced tomatoes.
- change the type of cheese
If you love grits like we do, you’ll love this too shrimp and grits plate. Great reviews and a staple in the South!
