My family loves smoothies and makes them several times a week for breakfast or as a snack. Pink, purple, green, blue, brown, countless colors and flavors. The strawberry smoothie and blueberry banana smoothie are our favorites that are often made.
A while back, I combined both of these smoothies into this one and it was an instant hit.

This is a very simple combination that we all agree is delicious. Forget to put it in the freezer and add an ice cube or two, but it dilutes the flavor a bit.
When strawberries and blueberries are on sale, I buy them in bulk and freeze them so I always have smoothies on hand. Frozen berries from the freezer section also work beautifully in this smoothie his recipe if you prefer.
I like smoothies that resemble the consistency of a milkshake, and frozen bananas are key.
When you’re ready to make your smoothie, just pick up as much as you need and put it in the blender. It’s also a great strategy for using bananas that are overripe and give your smoothie the perfect consistency.

- Add bananas, blueberries, and strawberries to the blender. Sprinkle with honey and add milk.
- Puree until the mixture reaches a thick, creamy consistency. Pour into glasses and enjoy immediately.
Note: I love the creaminess that whole milk gives to this smoothie recipe. For dairy-free alternatives, coconut milk, soy milk, or almond milk are fine. We recommend using unsweetened, non-dairy milk, as the banana and honey add all the sweetness this smoothie needs.

Feel free to adjust the amount of honey in this recipe to your liking. Allowing bananas to overripe before freezing can make smoothies that are sweeter and require less honey.
If you prefer a sweeter smoothie (or if you’re making it for a sweet tooth), try adding honey in half teaspoon increments until you reach the desired level of sweetness.
In fruit smoothies, the sweetness of frozen fruit directly influences the flavor of the smoothie. The same combination of ingredients that tasted perfect one day may need an extra sweetener another day.
