The 2024 Acura Integra Type S will go on sale this summer, but the teaser and info drip campaign are officially in full swing.
Acura has announced that the Integra Type S will produce 320 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque from a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. For reference, this makes him 5 horsepower more than the Honda Civic Type R, and the 310 lb-ft torque figure is the same as the Type R. We consider the Integra Type S to be very similar to the Type R.
The second piece of information Acura revealed today is the approximate launch window. The final car and all the specs we want is expected to drop at the Acura Grand Prix in Long Beach, where the race will take place over his April 14-16 weekend. We still don’t know exactly when the Type S will go live, but we’re betting on Friday or early in the week. For race fans all weekend long.
The teaser photo and teaser video (see directly above) give a little preview of the Type S’s design and sound. Much like the camouflaged car, the non-camouflaged version rocks huge fender flares both front and rear. These allow the Acura to not only fit the larger 265-section wide tires available for the Type S, but also give it a very aggressive look. The photos also give a glimpse of the carbon fiber rear lip spoiler, carbon mirror caps, large rear diffuser and the Type S badging on the front fenders.
As for the sound preview, the Integra Type S breathes through a triple-outlet exhaust and sounds far more terrifying than the factory Civic Type R. There are even some loud pops and bangs in the overrun that you can hear.As you go through the video frame by frame, you’ll also notice that the car was painted with Acura’s Tiger Eye Pearl paint. . This shade was seen on both the TLX Type S and MDX Type S, so it looks like the trend is continuing with the Type S model.
Keep an eye out for more teasers as we get closer to the final reveal of the Integra Type S.
