I love a good old American breakfast of eggs, toast and bacon, but sometimes I feel a little more refreshed. Then came the berry and yogurt parfait! It’s a great option for a quick breakfast and has even been known to munch on it all day for a protein-packed snack! The layers to make this dish are simple and delicious. All you need is your favorite yogurt, berries and crunchy granola. The secret to the best parfaits lies in the quality of the ingredients. It is sure to be a big success as a yogurt parfait for breakfast or as a snack!

yogurt options

We like to use plain Greek yogurt. It’s thick, creamy, and filling thanks to the added protein. Great for breakfast. If you don’t like Greek yogurt, you can choose plain yogurt in your preferred style. You can also try already seasoned varieties. To make this dairy-free, use your favorite plant-based yogurt.

mix & match berries

Using different berries in your creations gives your final product so many different flavors and textures. Strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, and blackberry combinations! I used fresh here, but frozen is fine too. When thawed, yogurt and granola soak up all the delicious juices to create a natural syrup.

Container option

One of the real pleasures of making and enjoying parfait is the recital! We recommend using a pint-sized glass jar. I love seeing all those delicious layers before digging in. If you’re serving it right away, a tall glass or mini trifle dish will do the trick too!

yogurt sweetener

There are many alternatives to honey that can be used to sweeten yogurt. Maple syrup, agave nectar, white sugar or brown sugar are all great options to try. You can also try honey and maple syrup infused with various spices such as cinnamon and vanilla. These substitutions add their own twist to recipes and open up a whole new world of flavor possibilities. The sweetness varies depending on the sweetener, so please adjust the amount by adjusting the amount.

Fruit Substitutes and Combinations
