SPICED APPLE COFFEE CAKE

This spicy apple coffee cake is easy to prepare and always a hit. A moist homemade cake made with canned apple pie. Loaded with spices, it packs a punch in the flavor department.

Ingredients needed for Spicy Apple Coffee Cake:

softened butter

white sugar

brown sugar

egg

flour

vanilla or vanilla essence

Baking powder

nutmeg

allspice

ground cloves

cinnamon

apple pie filling

pecans, chopped

icing sugar

fresh cream (you can also use milk)

Recipe note: You can use whatever nuts you like in this recipe. You can also easily exclude them. I haven’t tried this cake with other pie fillings, but I’m sure any flavor would be great. . This cake does not use any substitutes (gluten-free, dairy-free, etc.).

It’s a canned apple pie with lots of spices and it’s delicious!!

  • 1 cup of butter softened
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • Four egg
  • 3 cup of wheat flour
  • 1 tea spoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 tea spoon of baking powder
  • 1 tea spoon of nutmeg
  • 1 tea spoon of allspice
  • 1/4 tea spoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 tea spoon of cinnamon
  • 1 21 ounce canned apple pie
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

glaze:

  • 1-2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tablespoon thick whipped cream
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Using a mixer, cream the butter, sugar and vanilla. Add eggs and keep mixing. Add flour, baking powder, nutmeg, allspice, cinnamon and cloves and mix.

  • Pour 2/3 of the dough into a 9X13. Spread the apple pie filling over the dough. Sprinkle pecan halves over pie filling. Drop the remaining batter onto the apples and top with the remaining pecans.

  • Bake for 25-30 minutes. Let the cake cool before adding glaze.

I keep this cake on my kitchen counter, but you can put it in the fridge with no problem.
