While this dish is mostly fried, this version is breaded, deep-fried in a little oil, and topped with tomato sauce and cheese. The chicken is baked in the oven.

How to make chicken parmesan cheese

Our Chicken Parmesan starts with crispy breaded chicken and is packed with delicious flavors and textures!

  1. Beat chicken to 1/2 inch with a meat mallet or rolling pin to cook evenly.
  2. If the chicken breast is too big, you can cut it in half before breading.
  3. Pat dry before dipping in beaten egg and then breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese mixture.
  4. Press the bread crumbs onto the chicken to seal.

Fry the chicken breasts in a little oil for a few minutes on each side (they don’t need to be cooked all the way through because they’re baked in the oven). Place in a casserole dish and top with marinara sauce, mozzarella and parmesan cheese. Don’t skimp on cheese. Sticky cheese makes the best chicken Parmesan cheese.
