Salmon patties go back to this family history. When my mother was a child, my nanny always made it for me. My mother carried on that tradition and has been making it since we were children. He is still one of our most requested dishes. Ann and I always request salmon patties for birthdays. So many people appreciate them. There’s something about good old classics that warms your heart. I love that certain recipes have memories and traditions, and this one certainly does.

Cooking oil (I use canola oil)

What should I do with leftovers?
I honestly think leftovers taste better. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. I love to eat it cold with mustard. I’ve never frozen it, but I think it should be fine.

I have been making this salmon patty for years. This is my mom’s recipe and my family loves it.
- 1 15 oz can salmon, uncooked
- 1 egg
- 1 sleeve of salty crackers crushed
- 3/4 cup cooking oil I use canola oil for cooking

Heat the oil in a large frying pan. Place the remaining ingredients in a large mixing bowl and mix. Mix the ingredients by hand and form into a patty shape.

Place the patties in hot oil and brown on both sides. Reduce heat and continue cooking over low heat for about 20 minutes, turning occasionally. Cook until the patties are brown and crisp.
